Light Connections (Scotland) Ltd. is principally a family run business, which was first established in November of 1996. We initially began providing lighting consultancy and procurement services, and then branched out into manufacturing. We registered our company as it is now in May of 2002.
Over the years we have built a solid customer base, our customers ranging from Scotland's biggest electrical contractors to many smaller ones and also leading wholesalers.
Our objective is to provide products that are easy-to-understand and install, be cost-effective, compliant,and safe .
We have gained our expertise through consultation and co-operation with contractors and lighting design consultants and our products have been subscribed for many prestigious building projects throughout Scotland.

Director and Manager
John McKirdy was a founding member of Light Connections, which was also his brainchild. John had many years of experience and expertise in the electrical lighting industry, starting his career as an electrician in the mines before progressing to Philips Lighting to become Regional Sales Manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland. He sadly passed away in March 2023 aged 87 after a long illness.
The company benefited from his expertise as an electrical engineer, and he laid the foundations for the company’s success. He was known throughout the industry for his wealth of technical knowledge but especially for his kindness and like-ability and he made an impression on everyone he met. He will be remembered fondly by his family and friends and by all who knew him.
